Because my other service is currently unavailable due to the coronavirus, I attend the Animal Rights Faculty. During this meeting we have discussed the situation of the whale shark. A deck of slides regarding the matter was shown to help everybody understand how serious it is and to raise general awareness about it. Whale sharks, though feeding only on plankton, are the largest fish in our oceans and are now endangered, because they often are caught as by-catch and killed this way.
